Fuse panel wiring question

OK first of all I'll explain what I did to start this whole thing to happen. I was replacing the Clutch master Cylinder in my 87' Camaro. Not sure if I had pinched a wire or not.. but now, my gauge fuse keeps blowing. Also for a while, at night when I turned the lights on, and the dash lights, the (light) alarm would start sounding. I wiggled wires, and have tried to find out whats going on. I have the car so it wont start the alarm when the head lights are on.. but Each time I put a fuse in the panel(Gauges fuse). It pops the fuse as soon as it gets power. Anyone ever have this problem before, or can anyone tell me what wires and where they lead so that I can look for a pinched wire.

A bad ground would blow fuses too right?

any info would be greatly appreciated

I think you have a pinched wire--but I don't think a bad ground would cause a fuse to blow--it would only make the acc. not work.

Would a Live wire touching a ground cause the fuse to blow? I'm not 100% sure as to what would make the fuse blow all the time. I know enough about electronics to just barely get by, But I am in the process of restoring my camaro, and untill I have the money to start doing the big jobs, I'd like to work on the smaller things first.. This being one of them.

Yes--a live wire hitting a ground will blow the fuse. If it's a constant hot it'll blow as soon as you replace the fuse--but if it's switched--say if it's touching a hot lead for the headlights--as long as your lights are off it won't blow--but as soon as it gets power through that wire(turning lights on)it'll blow right away.
what happens when the fuse blows? Is it sitting still, do you hit a bump, turn an accessory on?

it blows as soon as I start to turn the key forward, to power up the car. one more notch and it powers up the starter.

So basically the car sitting still in my yard. I change the fuse, and turn the key foward. and It will blow.

ok--what else is on the gauge fuse? Just the gauges? I'm not familiar w/Camaros.
You just might have to trace each individual gauge wiring.
when you did the original repairs did you mess w/any wiring? I'd start there and work my way back.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.
