flickering lights question?
i have a 78 amp alt in my 84 Z28 with lg4. it has the v belt set up.
My question is this, when my car idles the headlight flicker with the sound of my motor. My idle is 500 to 600 rpm, is it just the low idle that make this happen? (not spinning the alternator fast enough)(edit:I drove the car to blockbuster tonight and noticed i have to spin above 1000rpm or so to make the flicker go away)
I also have a p180.2 jbl amp with 2, 20 amp fuses, the alternator has held up fine and i notice no difference from before i had this amp. Would it be a good idea to get a 105 amp alt from the parts store and switch to that? is this possible with my set up?
