normal altermator charging voltage

Just curious what is the normal voltage.

My new one puts out 13.7 at idle and 13.2 with the lights and blower on. Is this normal or is it low? I thought they were supposed to be in the 14's????

Depends on RPM and battery condition. High setpoint voltage is about 14.7-14.9 volts. 13.7 at idle is fine, with the blower and lights 13.2 is OK. Best time to check is after a cold start, normally you will see around 14-15 volts. Remember also that the gen will throttle back as the reg IC inside heats up.
