strange headlight problem

ok so every once in a while i go over my lights in and out of the car to make sure everything is working and nothing is blown. tonight while checking my headlights i found a strange problem. both low beams work just fine with just the lows on but when i switch to my high beams (and all 4 are supposed to light up) the driver side low beam goes out. the other three work fine but the driver side low doesnt. what could be my problem, this one threw me for a loop since i figured it works fine low....any sugestions?

The outer lights have two bulbs in them. ONe is for low beams and the other is for brights. You probably have a burned out high beam on the one side.

Im about 99.99% sure that all 4 headlights on a maro have single filament bulbs, so i dont think thats it. Are both your foglights turning off when you hit the brights?

Nevermind, after a close inspection it does look like those little buggers are dual filament... Oh well ya learn somethin new everyday.

The high beam headlights in our cars are single element (filament) units and the low beam headlights are a dual beam unit. Please note the 3 pin connector going to the dual beam headlights (high, low, and ground)

thanks for the pic trickster......after playing with them forever and testing different bulbs etc i found out its a wicked short. its weird that only the high part of my low beam is shorting out, o well. the wire has to be almost pinched together, turned at 90 degress before it stays on and then when i let it go it shuts off again.....

i guess a zip tie can hold the wire where it needs to be for now
