4thgen dash swappers simple connector question? or NE1 familiar with back of clusters
I haven't taken my 3rd gen dash off yet and i've never seen what the 3rdgen guage cluster connector/plug looks like. So to those of you who have done the swap, instead of cutting the old 3rdgen cluster connector off, is it possible to pull the pins or whatever they are out of the 3rdgen plug and insert them into the 4thgen plug?
My original idea was to find a MALE end plug that mimics the back of the 3rdgen cluster and make an adapter to the 4thgen plug so I wouldn't have to cut any wires on the car. But I haven't had luck in finding a 14pin MALE connector. So if you know where I could find one let me know. I would really like to do this idea but can't find one.
Im just looking for alternatives from having to cut up my wiring harness. Plus my crimps never hold and my soldering isn't to great either, so if there was a problem with either connection later on down the road, if I went with my adapter idea I could just simply unplug it and repair it off the car.
