well under the asumption that the gauge is shot and possibly fixable i will send it to mr whizard and see if they can fix it but if its toast and cant be fixed is it possible to convert to analog seeing as how i was planning on putting a bigger motor in there anyway i would want to put a set of gauges in there that have a higher mph

All the problems you mention here can be resolved by a repaired or replacement cluster. They are usually not all problematic at the same time,.... IE -- The system monitor fails, or the digital portion of the dash is dead. It's rare to see a dash with 3 or the 4 major problems ( the only thing you didnt mention was if the guages are working right !?!?!)
If you replace your dash cluster be sure to get the right one for your car !! A V6 needs a V6 cluster & a V8 needs a V8 cluster ! And don't forget that the berlinetta speedo sending unit is Electric and not a cable sending unit. ( If you buy an aftermarket speedo !! )
Here is a picture of a 1984 Berlinetta fusebox. I didn't check to see if all the fuses were the right ones !!!
