No blinkers OR hazards?

What would cause no blinkers or hazards? And which is the blinker, and which is the hazard - the flasher in the clip, or in the convience center?

All lights come on.

replaced the flasher in the clip, and tried it in the convience center, no go on blinkers OR hazards.

Blinker fluid is full (mobil 1 blinker fluid :P)

So what gives? The B/U - Turn fuse was blown, I replaced it, still no go. Fuse is not blown now.

I dropped the steering column, all the wires *seem* to be hooked up. Ideas?

Did you use the blue or the red?

The flasher unit in the clip is for the turn signals, the other one is for the hazards, and they are not funtionally interchangeable - each one is specific.

If the correct flasher doesn't work, that points to the switch in the column being FUBAR'ed.
Maybe Trickster has some diagnostic table to check things with...

Trickster.... Trickster! Any help here? They are specific? I thought they were both standard 552 thermal flashers?

Yes, I do have something for you. It is the schematic for that system on your car. As Petes 84Z28 has said, the turn flasher and hazard flasher are two different and non-interchangable parts. The turn flasher is in the clip on the right side of the steering column bracket. The hazard flasher is located in the convenience center by your right knee under the dash. There is also the "STOP/HAZ" in the fuse panel that you can check. You can also check all the lights in the circuit for bad bulbs or faulty, corroded connectors. If those are all good, your next re-course of action is to replace the turn hazard switch. Now a rather dumb question here, did you have the light switch turned on or the key in the run position when you checked these lights. I am sure you did but I had to ask because of a previous experience with a college (no slam intended here) educated acquaintance. Too long to go into detail Also do your turn indicators come on in the dash when this happens (do they just stay steady or not come on at all).

Alright! Thanks, Trickster...

No indicators at all. Yes, in run, and with full lights, parking only, and no headlights checked. Nothing at all.

What are the part numbers for the 2 flashers? I'm listing a 552 for both...

At Advance Auto Parts the Turn signal flasher is P/N "FC552" and costs $3.59 + tax. The Hazard falsher is P/N "FC536" and costs $3.99 + tax. The turn signal and hazard flashers are two different components on your car. Auto Zone does not even have them listed on their website. The manufacturer of these parts is Borg-Warner.
