Looking for a positive lead under dash pad...
Howdy.
I'm trying to hard-wire my radar detector into my car such that it only has power going to it when the ignition is on (i.e. like the radio). I know I can just pull the negative lead to any ground I can find (and there are lots of 'em under the dash pad); however, I still need a switched positive lead. I know there will be one going to the radio, but I was wondering if there might be one more easily accessible from the top of the dash pad (i.e. so I don't have to dig my radio out).
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks.

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
You'll get switched 12V power from the IGN terminal of your fuse block.

Thanks for the response.
However, the fuse box is much too far from where I'm trying to mount my radar detector (in the middle of my dash pad--right above the air vents). I'm trying to avoid having to pull much more than the dash pad off in order to hook this up--and I certainly don't want to pull the whole dash out.
Is there anything closer/easier to get to than the fuse box, or am I just looking at the fuse box wrong?
