V-6 to V-8 swap, whats needed to get gauges to work
planing out the big swap, i know the speedo will work if i keep the comp working(just limited on duties) but what is needed to make the tach read correctly?
Also what if i droped in a TA cluster with the 120 speedo? will i have to change anything to make the speedo read right with the V-6 comp, and would that fix the tach reading? or would i need to swap out comps with a v-8 TA comp to get the guages to work properly?

All you need for the speedo is the yellow 'buffer' box located next to the ECM, along with the wires that run to the sending unit on the transmission.
You have two options for the tach; one is to swap it out for a V8 unit; or, as long as the 6000 rpm mark is straight up (12 o'clock position), you can swap on a V8 face which has the 4500 rpm mark at the same position. Most, if not all, the white face or glow gauges will work this way.
A TA cluster will be a direct swap - no changes needed.
Don't forget, you'll also need the sending units for gauges on the 'new' engine.
