lack of voltage to the distributor

I got a problem....I have been attempting to start this camaro using the key without any luck! I then tried to hot wire the starter from the fire wall and found that the starter did turn over, but still wouldn't start (the key wouldn't even do that)
I then decided to check for voltage to the distributor while I was turning the starter over and found that there wasn't any, none, zip, null, ziltch, 0 Volts! No wonder it doesn't start, now I wish to know where I should go from here! I hope someone out there with a bigger brain than I can help me out!

Well you might want to check the pink wire from the ignition switch to the ignition coil. Check the ignition switch while you are at it.

Mr. Trickster, thank you for the reply! What I had failed to mention before was that there is a security relay connected somehow (in series I assume) to the ignition switch. I was unable to get it started before so I decided to solder the points on the relay shut which corrected my problem and I was able to start the car. I then drove it around for awhile, decided that I needed to replace the brake calipers & pads and wrap the starter wires with insulation tape. After completing these tasks I went to turn the key and nothing happened except the security light flashes once and goes out:

What car are you having this problem with? Unless someone has installed an aftermarket alarm system or you have swapped out engines and wire harness's in one of your cars, there should not be a security relay in either one of the cars in your profile. BTW, have you checked the fusible links down at the starter solenoid?

O.K. To make a long story short I bought 2 camaro's an 82 with a recient rebuilt engine (crappy body) and an 89 no engine (good body) for really cheap!(the guy needed room in his garage). I salvaged some of the parts from the 82 & put them on the 89 (ground effects & spoiler). Added some headers and chrome to the engine, replaced the Quadrajet with a holley (Holley's are easy) then sanded and primed it! Drove around for for awhile when I found one of the calipers screwed up(replaced them both). Went to start it and "now, you know the rest of the story". I do want to thank you though, I found after taking the ignition switch out that it lacked the continuity needed between terminals! I haven't put a new one in yet as it is Sunday and the Auto stores and dealers are closed around here!
