TBI Harness, Truck Alternator (pix inside)
Okay guys, Motor out of a early 80's GM truck I suspect.
I want to run this one because it has more amps. and it bolts to the pass side head like every alt. should.
Coming off of this alt. We have the Big red wire on the back as you can see which should go to the batt. on the hot side. And then we have a 2 wire plug in the side. One looks pink but I think it's red. the other coming out of it is a little white-ish grey color.
Alright so how do I wire this sucker up to my TBI harness?

the pink wire coming out the conector, can connect right to the stud where the other red wire goes, one short little jumper. the other wire should be the generator light wire, and should be brown. you can connect that to the brown wire that should have gone to the other alternator.

the picture looks like a standard delco alternator, so the two wires should have been brown and red.
so the big red wire off the connector went to the stud.
the little brown wire went to the existing wire in the harness that went to the alternator before?
if you did that, it should have worked. i've got that on a few cars. if something isn't right in the harness, dude, I'm sorry if anything is broke.
thats what sucks about older cars, though, and trying to work through the internet, i have no idea about what is actually wired in the car now. unfortuately, it always seems the wiring gets chopped up a bit from owner to owner, so its very hard to tell what you're actually hooking up.
was there an alternator in the car already and was the wiring intact?
