Starter troubles

My starter has gotten progressively worse; when i turn the key, usually about the first 5 or 6 attempts, the solenoid makes a click but does not engage the starter motor. I replaced the solenoid, and that didnt do anything. Was it a bad replacement solenoid, or should i get a new new starter? When it does successfully engage the starter motor, it does not seem to hesitate due to lack of power.

It sounds like you may have a bad connection to the battery.
