Is an electric speedo independant of the ECM??
I need to know if the 140 TA electric speedos are independant of the VSS? I am carbed w/ the 85 mph mechanical speedo and most of all the factory wiring including the ecm wiring has been chopped out or removed because it's no longer necessary.
Is it possible to make a custom wiring harness for the electric speedo to connect to the VSS on the tranny??? if so what would I need?
Please help because it would be nice to have a speedo.

This is what I did in my Formula.
If you plan to swap in an entire 86-92 cluster, you may need to re-pin the connectors; I haven't been able to find out if they changed between 84 and 85 or if it was between 85 and 86 (when the electric speedo was introduced in the 'birds).
