light problems

Hey guys I got a problem that I need a little help solving. I have a 88 firebird, v8 a4 if that matters that developed a light problem. I havent driven it for about 1.5 months so I brought it in the shop to do a little work on it to get it road ready and noticed a front park light and rear brake/tail light was out so I replaced both and they both worked great. Then I was trying to figure out how to get my power hatch to work ( there are wires everywehre going to that hatch motor, kinda butchered) and I worked on the headlights and did other maintence. Then I took it outside in the dark to adjust my headlights and I noticed I have absolutely no lights on the rear half of the car, and all of these had been working pefectly 30 minutes earlier. The brake/taillights, the side marker lights, tag lights, and turn signals were all gone. Now heres something else funky, when I push on the brake my instrument panel lights up according to how much pressure I push on the brake, if I push a little its real dim, if I jab it down they are very bright. What's the problem here? All this was perfect before I drove it in the shed and now its shot.
HELP ME PLEASE THIS IS A DAILY DRIVER
Thanks,
Mack
P.S. I did check the tail fuse under the dash.
