identify the connector

Hi all, I was recently trying to clean up the wiring around the engine bay and came across a single wire female connector that doesnt appear to have a male match. It is hanging out of a strapped together series of wires around the brake reservoir and in front of the fuel pump fuse area, just beside the area where dry leaves and dirt collect behind the driver strut tower. I was wondering if I need it connected to something or is it optional for diagnostics or options purpose? Any ideas would be great. Thx
(I'll try and post a pic soon)

That is the fuel pump test point that is installed on your car. It is okay to leave it where it is.

How do I check the fuel pump with this type of connector? The camero has you jump power to m of aldl. Do I jump power to one of these wires? Does it ground the circuit to energize the relay?

To test the fuel pump with this circuit, simply use a fused jumper wire and apply 12 volts DC to it and ground. Do not apply 12 volts of any power to terminal "M" of the ALDL unless you wish to just throw money away buying new ECM's as it will bar-b-que it. The old systems (pre 90) had you apply 12 volts DC to pin "G" of the ALDL and ground to test the fuel pump.

Then I may be fried. Use a fused jumper to 12volt to the single wire and then ground which wire?

You can ground to the battery negative post or to a good spot on the car frame.
