Turn Signal Switch?

Hello Everyone.

I want to start off and let you all know that I already did a search, but didnt quite find exactly what I was looking for.

Here is the deal. The other night on my way home from UTI, I noticed that my turn signals werent working. However, earlyer that morning on my way to work they were just fine. I thought to myself that it was something simple and replaced the flasher the following morning. I installed the new flasher in the convenience panel and still no turn signals.

All of my fuses are just fine, myhazzard lights still work, so I have narrowed it down to my turn signal switch. Unfortunately all I can seem to find in my service manual is how to replace the multi-purpose lever. So I am pretty stumped as to how I am supposed to replace the switch itself. Autozone carry's it for around $26 and does have one in stock, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this that could maybe talk me through the process.

Any help is much appriciated!

The multifunction lever plugs into the turn signal switch. I have the info for a 84 firebird and will send that to you tomorrow in the e-mail,
