Electronics Need help wiring something up? Thinking of adding an electrical component to your car? Need help troubleshooting that wiring glitch?

brake light issues...... please help.

Car: 1987 Trans Am
Engine: L98
Transmission: 700r4
brake light issues...... please help.

I pulled the column to do the torx bolts, and thats where I went wrong. The 2 main brake lights no longer work, but the 3rd does. There was what I believe to be a cheap splice done on the white wire just outside of the wire cover.

The car has remote start and when you're to press the brake without the key in the ignition it kills the car, thats why I believe thats the brake wire because it doesn't kill the car any more. When I connected the 2 open ends of the white wire they still didn't work...

can anyone tell me if this is the problem, or what color wires may be the problem???

check your fuse... u may have pinched or snipped a wire and shorted something while you were working.
