HELP PLEASE car wont start!
my car died!i mean, the damn car wont start,it's a non comp.controlled car with a qjet,i was crusing by when he suddenly stalled and refuses to start,i changed the ignition module and the coil 'cus both tested faulty at autozone, but the car still doesn't start,i also hotwired the batt. terminal to no avail, there's no power to the batt terminal at the dist.cap but there is power to the tach terminal,i have an omega k9 alarm but she seems to work ok and has never failed,im out of ideas, there is power out of the ignition switch but it doesn' reach the distributor, thanks in advance

Trying pulling the fuse to the alarm and see what happens. My car was doing the same thing and it turned out to be my car alarm. Once I pulled the fuse to the alarm the car started right up. Just a thought.

You might want to check your Park/Neutral switch on the shifter. That is what completes the circuit for power to go to the starter from the ignition switch. Just a thought..

I think you lost me there. Do you mean the battery post or where exactly? Thread Starter

no,i mean the batt terminal at the dist.cap, the tach terminal has current when i turn on the ignition switch, but the batt terminal doesnt,i tried hotwiring the batt terminal to the positive side of the battery but the thing wont start, not a single spark, theres power coming out of the ignition switch but it doesnt reach the distributor, can my alarm be the culprit?i tried pulling the fuses out of it but nothing changed

please think of somethin' guys.
p.s. a blown timing chain can do this?

hmm
My car just recently did this to me. I started the car then it ran for about 10 seconds, then it just kicked the bucket. First I did the major things that commonly go wrong. Ignition mod, ignition coil, starter solenoid, didn't do the pickup coil though. I also replaced the knock sensor, which is another thing which it could be. None of those things fixed it. I ended up just replacing the distributor. Started right up after that. So i would say just pull the distributor, and take it someplace to have them inspect it, or else just buy yourself a new one. Good luck.
