on my '91, two wires in a connector on top of the alternator and i need to know where they go... one red, one black. i have a "noise", sort of like a medium pitch humming in the alternator with the key in the "on" position. both read power to them with the key on, also. verified that with my "90... i assume one goes to indication, but does it go thru the ecm or direct to dash circuit?

i've got a bad ecm for another problem, but am trying to troubleshoot that noise down as well.

nevermind... i figured it out. red comes from starter/batt, black comes off the gauge with the key on.
