EGR question
EGR question
how hard is it to replace an EGR valve on a TPI car?
I have been getting a "SES" light and the dealer told me it was my EGR valve. they quoted me $440 to replace it.
very steep since I dumped almost $4,000 in the car in the last month and a half and with x-mas coming funds are short.
thanks

I do not know your mechanical ability, but that valve is under your top plate. When you change it make sure that all the passages are open and also ceck the passages in the throtel body that coinside with it. also their might be another pice that tells the computer how far the valve is open (at least there is on some fords(sorry for swearing at a GM)). As for difficulty I would call it a timmly thing with a difficulty rating of 2 on a scale of one to five. there will be a lot of things in your way.
