When I turn on my head lights the tach drops and the right turn signal indicator comes on steady.. but when I turn on the right hand turn signal it still works and the indicator light also blinks...
If I dim the cluster lights where you cant see anything (when its dark) the tach starts working again.. car is 85 camaro in sig
my guess is the multi function switch but before I get into a mess like that I would like to see if anyone has had a similar problem or knows whats going on. by multi funtion switch I mean the one in the left hand dash that you pull for headlights and controls cluster brightness.. correct me if I have the wrong terminology.. thanks in advance.

 

my dad thought it was the bulbs so i swapped them ...same stupid crap!


my oil gauge goes nuts everytime it wants to blink , and my rpm gauge does its own thing lol


heres my theory though ...it seems like a bad ground, because mine happens when i punch the gas really hard and it takes off shaking the crap out of itself haha like it should since its a real car, but the only thing is that light wont fix itself till you turn it off and the car is off for about 5-10 mins ...then it works fine

its a bad connection somewhere thats my theory but i dunno how and dont really want to pull my dash apart until after i rebuild and replace everything under her and her guts ...then ill pull the dash because im turning mine into a race/show car

make sure you use the right blinkers and put the bulb in right,is there croshion in the sockets.I would cheak this out that could be why the blinker stayes light in the car it could also be the flasher it self not the bulb but i dought that it but worth a try.the best way to test is swap it with the HAZ flasher

 

I had the same problem till yesterday. I took out my cluster and had one of my electricians check out the thin film circuit board, there was a break in one of the bulb places. He fixed the break now eveything works fine when I turn on the headlights. Hope this helps

yeah my right turn signal dash light stays on, then I check the bulb and replaced it still stays on then I found a crouded piece of wireing right before the socket for the bulb still never got around to clean/ fix it but I also have the brights not working could be a multifunction switch a mech said cuz its loose when I pull back on it for the brights but the rest of the wiper stick works but what sucks is that I heard it can cost up to 400 on it since it has cruse control and stuff on it bleh I ahet wasting money if that's not the problem like my trunk hatch lid motor...... which still wont work replace everything cept the gear...

 

I have not had this specific problem but it sounds like the same type of thing that causes dash to cut out or glitch when head lights are on. it could be a problem in the relay switch box. I don't know my dad jerry rigged mine to work after my dash cut out. try to fix it right if this is the problem don't jerry rig it
