Tach Idea

Anyone by pass the wiring harness and just connected a wired from the starting on the plug that plugs in the circuit board to the distributor to operate the stock tach??

i think the wire is really bad on the harness it has been shorten and modifyied so much i wanted to replaced it but i don't know if it has a resistor in the wire or not?!?!

any info would be apreciated!!

Well on your car if it is the 84 camaro that you are talking about. There is a black wire that runs from the distributor to the Tachometer filter, there is then a white wire that runs from the filter to connector C114 and from there to pin "D6" of connector C100 on the driver side firewall bulkhead. From there it is a white wire going to pin "11" on connector C1 of the instrument panel. Just pick a point there and put in a new wire.
