MSD ignition on optispark
I have an 89 Firebird powered by a 93 LT1 and i was wondering if the MSD 6AL ignition is to hot for it? I was told that it was but that wasnt a very reliable source. Any input would be appreciated.

Your source was probely somewhat right. If you dont open your gap on your sparkplugs they will get too hot on any engine. But if you gap them correctly then I don't see it being a problem, but I could be wrong. The way I do it is take out one spark plug and connect the wire to it then ground the electrode. turn over the engine and look at the color of the spark. If it's white then open the gap if its orange then close the gap. When it's blue that should be the correct gap. Then gap all your spark plugs at that gap.
