Converting mechanical speedo output to digital gauge input?
Converting mechanical speedo output to digital gauge input?
I plan to use a TH400 in my 90' RS behind a 400sbc once I get it built to my liking. My question is how do I get the stock (digital input) speedo to work with the mechanical output on the TH400. I've done a little checking but have not turned up a whole lot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

You could try finding a VSS from a later model TH400-equipped truck with an electronic speedo.

I believe autometer makes a converter, and then you can use the dakota digital device to calibrate the speedometer.
Autometer part number 5291. $62.95 www.summitracing.com
Dakota Digital Part number SGI-5. $79.95 http://www.dakotadigital.com/Detail....-5/product.htm

find a tailshaft off a 454 ss pickup. it should have the correct electronic goodies. just get the right drive/driven gears for your tire/gear combo
