uh oh...please help..
today something shorted out in my car...i have a manual fan switch in my car and i had problems with one of the connectors working on it..took it off...fixed it...put the wires back on it. went 2 try it out when my car was running and the car died! im thinking i hooked it back up backwards or something......after that i had electric in everything u should w\o the key on BUT when i tryed 2 start it..not even a click..like theres no charge...so..did i blow the fusable links? 15 mins after it happened..it started...but..around 6 that night when my dad got home wile i was at work he took a look at it and said it wouldnt start at all again...i hope i didnt hurt too much. my dad said some wires are black and hes sure its just blown fuseable links..but...the one and only hot wire thats from the battery and goes 2 the starter and all is the one we had hooked for the hot wire in my switch...please help if u can...i might have 2 take it next door to the shop if i cant find those links....thanks again for ur help guys....being a rookie at this stuff sucks!
There are several fusible links on the vehicle. I'm not certain on the V-6s, but there should be at least two links from the starter to the body/chassis wiring, and another link from the positive battery cable to additional body wiring. I'm guessing that th elinks from the starter would be the first to check, but not being quite sure how/where you wired your fan power, check them all.
