I'll take a stab at this.......

The big hole is where the blower resistor fits into.

The cut wires probably had a connector that pluged into the blower resistor.

I take it your heater/AC fan doesn't work?

Well, if you can see the fan on the left side of the pic, youll notice that it is unbolted for some reason. What does this resistor look like? Someone care to go out and snap a pic of theirs for me?

hope this helps, this is how the purple wires run, comes straight from the harness, ran down to the plug, then comes back and goes into the plug for the blower motor.

Paulo,
What color is the wire (or wires)going to the fan motor, and what color(s) are the wires going to the relays behind your fuel pressure gauge? (arrows) Thanks for the pic!

Refer to the photo:

#1 - Purple; comes from the blower resistor connector.

#2 - Black; two ground wires. One comes from the Blower High Speed Relay (#3 in photo). The other black wire goes to the ground distribution loop (G112 or G117 depending upon VIN Code).

#3 - Blower High Speed Relay, 4 wires.
Wire #1 - Red (hot at all times).
Wire #2 - Purple (not used) from blower esistor connector.
Wire #3 - Black (ground, plugs into ground spade at blower motor).
Wire #4 - Orange, from Blower switch.

The descriptions come from the service manual for '87 model year.

I think this is where your wires go. Keep in mind that I'm not able to verify what wires are coming and going to and from where.

Refering to the purple and black wire that's labeled "blower"; the black wire should go to the ground spade on the blower and then to chassis ground (ground distribution G112 or G117).
