Hi out there, I have a 91' bird, that was a v6 car that I have swapped out for a traditional pontiac 400. I purchased a cluster out of an 89' GTA, and swapped that, so I have the v8 tach, and the 140 speedo. So far I have all the gauges working properly except the tach and speedo. The speedo I just haven't gotten to yet, that's one of tomorrows projects. My real ? is about the tach,, I am running a stock (stock for the motor not the car) points distributer, and wondered if that factory tach will work correctly, or be able to read it?? I hooked the white tach wire to the tach side of the coil and it didn't seem to work,, is there something more I need?? or do I have to change my ignition?? I hope someone out there can help me out,, It will be much appreciated,, and thanks to everyone out there on thirdgen for all the help already.. thanks

 

shouldnt both wires go to the + and - on the coil?
