can anyone help me i am looking to put a 1987 ta dash in my 1986 ta i am getting the wiring harness with it is it hard to change over any suggestions thanks

 

I'm putting a 90-92 in my 86 Firebird and it seems that there are a few different things such as the VSS buffer box is now in the harness instead of on the speedo itself, but good luck in finding any more info, I posted up a bit ago asking for help, but nobody would chime in on it.

The only problem I ran into was the wiring on the passenger kickside panel since the 87 started with VATS and the 86 doesn't have it, the wiring was totally different and now in the process of figuring out what the wires do, but no luck so far.

 

Well, I've tried worse... I tried to stick a Camaro dash in a Firebird...! Big mistake, never again, but your's may be easier - at least it supposed to fit in the dashface. But, did you score the trip computer and electronic A/C control module, too?

 

6 days later now i have the dash put in it was out of an 1988 gta with a 5 speed and i have an automatic it was a mess nothing pluged in together and the mph gauge doesn't work buts looks good and also have to change the ac/heater control and rear wire harness
