Temp guage takes a dump.......

Temp guage takes a dump.......
Temp guage is pinned to the top. I have replaced the sensor to no avail. Guage fried?

unhook the green wire going to the sending unit on the front drivers side head.
turn on the ignition.. the gauge should read zero.
if it does, have someone touch the green wire to a good ground. it should peg at max temp.
if it doesnt do that, stick a meter on it and see if the wire is shorted to ground somewhere else..... like a broken wire or something.
if its fine... the gauge is shot.
