unlock button on passenger side not working

the power door lock buttons on the drivers side work fine. on the passenger side the lock button works but when you press the unlock button it does nothing. no movement or sound. i took both buttons out and compared the metal prongs and they looked the same on both, no corrosion. i switch the buttons on the doors and now it does the same thing on the drivers door, it wont unlock it. i guess its a bad button? is there anything i can do to fix it without buying a new button? thanks for the help

Can you take the button apart? I had the same problem on my 96 Grand Prix. I took the button itself apart *VERY CAREFULLY*, and cleaned the contacts w/ 91% rubbing alcohol. Worked like a charm.
