Firebird to Sunfire lights, need wiring help plz~
I just ordered headlights and parking lights for a '04 sunfire and plan to make brackets, mod the hood/bumper so they sit flush and hopefully look factory installed on my Transam.
I'm not sure what to do with the wiring because the firebird is a single high/low beam bulb vs. the sunfire with seperate high beam housing and low beam housing using two bulbs. I need to go from three wires into one bulb- to four wires into two bulbs.
I figure two of my existing wires are "hot" (one for low and one for high) and the other is a ground wire? could I just run a jumper wire from one headlight ground to the other? or a ground wire to the chassis for my added light?
I can sketch a pic real quick if my explination seems fuzzy.

I'm down for a simple solution, tho I do have a camaro parts car if it comes down to that. Should I just bust out a test light and try to hook it up from the three wire harness or is there a reason I really need the camaro wiring?
edit- just to further complicate or simplify? the situation I spliced in a floor mounted dimmer switch a few years back. Could I just run new wires on the output side of that switch or is there relays in there someplace?
Thanks

The camaro wiring is no different from a 'bird with the exclusion that a jumper goes from the high element on the single (hi/low) lamp to the high beam llamp since the camaro has an extra lamp. Operation is all the same between the two cars.
IIRC tan is low, green is high and black is ground. Wire those colors respectivly to the new lamps.
An independant hi/low lamp system would be tan- low lamp +, blk gnd. Green- high lamp +, blk gnd = 4 wires

Here's a pic, as promised... sorry if you've already seen this in a different post. I'm having trouble locating plugin's for the bulbs, dealer wants 30bux a bulb for the male plugins. Looks like I'll be junkyard diving on monday. Turnsignals haven't showed up yet either.

After much searching for cheap new connectors online I found them to be over 100bux for all six and the turn signal sockets were not part of that deal. I cross referenced the connectors attempting to find another newer GM car or truck I could find in the local new car resting place- no luck. The '03 and up sunfire's use their own unique plugins. Another idea was modifying some plugin's from napa to work, decided against this as shorting out one of those fancy bulbs is not a delightful thought.
Called about 30 junkyards and finally found someone willing to seperate just the plugin's from the wiring harness! The total was 65.00 for all six connectors including shipping, the turn signal bulbs and sockets. More than I expected to pay, I don't think I got too bad of deal though considering every other yard wanted 150 or more. These bright lights might save me from hitting a deer someday and worth every penny.
More pic's soon.
