Oxygen Sensor Jumpering Question
Just a question here and I figured, if I thought of it, somebody, somewhere has probably done it.
I am sure I have a bad O2 Sensor in one of my vehicles. It has 171,000 miles on it. I was curious if anyone has driven without theirs hooked up or if they placed like a resistor (or some such thing) in the connector to the sensor to fake out the computer.
Like I said, just curious.

The oxygen sensor fakers you may have seen are for OBDII cars. They have two sensors, one to control the fuel mixture and one to monitor the catalytic converter. The faker is for the cat o2 sensor. The computer needs the main o2 sensor the adjust the mixture. You can't fake that one and have the car run right.
