tach problems

my problem is, when i running the car hard, and reving it out past 5000 the tach will suddenly drop off after 5000. until i shift or let off the gas then it will come back to life. it only happens when im driving though. i can sit in neutral and rev it up and it wont drop. i know that isnt good for the engine, but i was curious if it did it in neutral. my ignitoin system consists of a msd 6a box, msd blaster 2 coil, 8.8 wires, brass distrutor cap and rotor. thats it. i really dont want to put an aftermarket tach in, i want to keep the stock tach where its at. i dont like the look of a tach sitting somewhere else. yes my motor does pull pass 5000. i would like some real answers no smart a$$e$. thank you.
