Well I think I did it this time. I installed Leather Power Seats in my 84Z. Ground the black wire to a screw into the floor pan (Coated the underside of where the ground screw penetrated under the seat) Ran a power wire under the carpet, and up to the fuse box. Here is my mistake I think. I plugged the Spade into what was marked IGN. , because I wanted it to be unpowered when key was off. After re-connecting the battery and trying to see if the seat was powered (It moved just as it should), now my Tach. and Amp Gauge try to run backwards. Yep they are moving in reverse to peg when I switch on the ignition. I have since moved the power wire to the seat to an ACC. spot. I disconnected and re-connected the battery again to see if it would re-set , no luck. What did I do, and is there a fix for this dumb mistake??? Thanks, Ed.

Try completely unhooking the seat motors and running the car

I unhooked the seat power, and removed the negative cable from the battery. The Mechanical speedo is still working. None of the other gauges are working at all now. I may try to replace the whole gauge pod to see if that helps - I may have burnt out all of the gauges. Thanks so far , Ed.
