help identifying carb electrical wires
I think the one sensor on the top, left front of the carb is a TPS and what is the connection at the bottom front right side of the carb as viewed in this pic?
I am gutting all the comp controlled and installing a new holley, intake and vacuum advance dist so I want to cut these lines and get rid of them - are they needed to make anything else work on the car? I know to keep the electric choke wire. Thanks
Tony

TPS is 3-wire on the right, mixture control solenoid 2-wire on the left. If you're gutting the computer controls, you can probably fish out the entire harness more or less instead of cutting things. I would go with the intake and headers and keep the Q-jet and computer controlled distributor. Biggest thing is getting the Q-jet tuned in right. You will probably have less problems that way, and it will probably run better in the end.
Edit-there is a lot of usefull info on this board about rebuilding/tuning the CC Q-jet. I would search around to see what you can find if you want to do it yourself. If not, I have had great luck with the carb shop:

For a little more than the cost of a 600 holley, you can have your Q-jet done right.
