Adding length

Alright, he's the deal. Installed headers, and new oxygen sensor. Well now the wire that goes to the senser on the block for the temperature gauge won't reach. So it's one or the other (o2 or temp gauge) so naturally of course I deal with not being able to see water temp. How do I add length to the gauge sensor wire?

I remember seeing something on one of those TV car shows, where they already had a piece of wire and it had a clamp on each side, so they could just cut the wire they wanted to lengthen, and insert and clamp in this new wire. The reason I bring that up is I have no knowledge when it comes to wiring. I can't even solder (and I've tried) correctly. So what are my options? How can I do this quick, easy, and inexpensive?
