Power Window Switch

Apologize in advance for the simple question - but a search didn't turn up anything. My driver PW switch in my 89 TTA works 1/3 times for "up" - motor seems fine - it's just getting her to start from the full down - I fugre the contacts are about gone in the switch so I'm ordering one. I haven't poured over the SM yet but do I have to pull the console to get it out or is accessible some easy way that isn't apparent at first glance??

Thanks!

On my car it's as simple as remove the screws for the plastic console tray and lefting it up. Each switch has it own plastic connector. You might find it easier to pull the little U clip out of the front of your shifter **** and remove the **** off the stick, that way your tray will slide off the shifter, boot and all. I can't remember how exactly the service manual says to do it. The connector should have some tabs you need to pull back to take it off the switch. Careful when working with these old plastic pieces they get pretty brittle. The switch should come out of the console trim plate fairly easy once the connector is removed. The new switch will hopefully snap right back in place as easy.
