Seriously Fubar'd Wiring Help

Trying to get a friend's 1990 Camaro running to no avail. It was running when he brought it to me, but had an extreme power drain (battery drained in an hour flat). I recently took a cheap alarm out of the car that was badly wired. When I say badly wired, I mean there are cut wires everywhere, no color coding, and dead ends out the wazoo. The only thing I removed was the alarm unit/little black box. Now we went to start the car today (boosted it) and all the electricals came on, but no ignition. So I went to find the alarm in my garage and it has pulled a vanishing act .
From what I have gathered, the fat yellow constant coming throught the firewall (driver's side) has been cut, and the alarm has been put inbetween the two ends. Any ideas/suggestions/mourning for the soon to be murdered?

That's where most alarm systems are wired into, the big yellow wire is the one that sends the signal to the starter for it to start turning over. You will have to find the other end of it on the steering column and splice it back together.

Thanks. Figured it to be something along those lines. Funny thing is he just sold it, got asking price even though its not running.
