I have been smelling this really bad burning smell lately, and today it got really strong. Iwas drivign to work and I noticed smoke coming up through where my shift boot isn't attached from under the shift plate.

I took the plate off and it was the little blue box that attches to the back of my passenger side power window switch. I pulled it out and it was really hot and smoking. It stopped after I pulled it out. I tried to put it back in so I could put the window up, but now it won't work at all.

Anyone know a way to get the window up, and a reason why it would be smoking and burning and what should I do???

Time for a new window switch, it sould appear. Has the switch been wet?
