Window help needed asap
me and my friend are working on his 87 monte carlo and we need to put his windows on it to work on it outside. His car currently has no engine in it. Were told that you can put the windows up by using a 9 Volt battery? Is this true? Or how else would i go about getting the windows up without and engine? We have the wiring harness, if that makes a difference. I have no electrical knowledge so any help would be great.

9 volts isn't enough to power the window motor and the amperage is also insufficient for the task. You can use either a 12 volt car battery or lawnmower battery for this.

I used a lawnmower battery to put the windows up in my GTA but the GTA doesn't have a dash harness so I had to go straight to the window motor (but I also had the door panels off and access to the window motor)
