Typical Altenator question
My altenator at engine idle put out 14VDC, confirmed with a multi meter. However when I put on the AC and maybe power lights it will drop down as far as 12VDC, no more tho. Then when I step on the gas... with these accessories online, it will come back to 14VDC. Next stop light, 12VDC again.
Is this normal or should I trouble shot it?

Never test any of my car's that did that . But I belive that is normal as long as I dose not drop below 12v and it gose back up with rpm . You are loading up the system with all that stuff on mostly the A/C not in a bad way . My little escort 4-banger barley move's with the A/C on , the defroster dose the same thing to it . Battery still going stong .
