Hatch pulldown motro wiring?
Ok, im trying to figure out if i can salvage this hatch pull down motor. I hope there is someone who can help me figure out this wiring, it was definetley "modified" by the previous owner. When I pulled it out only the Dark blue wire was connected to the wire harness in the trunk. The white wire was dangling. I have a picture attached and it is only of the motor, motor housing and wiring. The blue wire female connector was hooked up to a red wire male connector. Is that how it is supposed to be? Can anyone tell me? I have many wire diagrams and none of them have the hatch motor even listed. Secondly what is the white wire male connector for? The unit didnt function when i pulled it out. I know the possible factors could be the striker sensor switch, at the top left of the picture. The hatch motor relay, the little box at the bottom of the picture. The reversing switch located right on top of the motor housing. OR the motor itself. Before i spend over a hundred bucks replacing stuff, is there anyway to hook this thing up to a power source to see if it will work as is? I know the black wire is my ground, what are the dk blue and white for?

Does anybody have an modified factory pulldown unit? If you do, can you check it out and see how its connected. There should be the ground wire to the body. A dark blue wire connected to something and a white wire connected to something. Ive seen alot of pictures to the 86-91 units and they all look like they have a dk blue, a white and a ground coming off them.
