charging system question

let me ask yall a question. in the morning when my car is cool my votage gauge reads about 14 volts. after the car is warmed up the voltage gauge drops to about 11-12 volts. i've checked the output at my alternator and it is fine. also when i turn on any lights the voltage gauge drops. when i turn on my blinkers the gauge bounces with the blinkers.

so is this normal or is there a problem somewhere?

Yes that is pretty normal, if you had a bigger drop than that then I would worry about it.

well untill your car warms up your rpms are a lil higher (around 1000) and the alt in return spins faster. then it warms up and it drops to between 500-750 and the alt slows down. also the more acc. your runnin the more drain its puttin on the batt. and the alt if not spinnin quick cant fully keep it charged but its a normal thing.

It has something to do with rules devised by a guy named Ohm, and another guy named Voltaire.

similar to the reason when you put a 10 amp charger on your battery it reads 10 amps when you first connect it, but only reads 6 amps in the morning. I have no idea what that reason is, but its probably related.

mine does the same thing, so its no biggie.
