ok i have a 1988 trans am gta with the 350 tpi i just replaced the intake manifold in it, now that its back togeather im having some major starting problems.... like no spark.
im not even getting a spark out of the coil, when i run the code reader it says "no pulse to the distributer", ive replaced the distributer thinking that may help and also it was looking pretty bad ive also replaced the coil but still getting the same code now im sure its somthing else possibly a crank sensor or possibly a cam sensor. if any one has any ideas on what to do it would be much appreceated looking at it in the drive way and having to drive an escort around is making me wanna fix this thing real quick before winter.

 

Well to start with there is no such animal as a cam or crank sensor in your car. I would start by looking at the wires you have going to the distributor and ignition coil to make sure you have them hooked up right. BTW, the connector for the MAT is the same as the one for the ignition coil at the distributor. Also make sure you didn't pinch a wire when you put the intake manifold back on.

 

ahhh i got it now i went to check if i got those two switched up and unrolled one of them from the tape and saw a wire was squashed and not getting the connection. and they really dont have a crank sensor or cam sensor?
