Car: 89 FORMULA FIREBIRD, 86 CHEVY CAMARO
Engine: L98, LB9 RESPECTIVLY
Transmission: 700 R4 (BOTH)
Oil pressure switch/sender

My '86 has the seperate op switch and sender, can I replace them with the newer style combined unit?

Transmission: 700R4
No because of the purposes the seperate units serve and the location of each. On your car, one unit serves as a oil pressure sending unit and the other unit serves as a fuel pump switch. On the later models as you probaly know, they cut down on the wiring and consolidated the units into one.
