Headlight/Turnsignal Problems

I know this is a commen problem, but I searched and couldnt find someone who has same exact problems as I'm having.

Car sat all weekend outside, mid 90's, no rain. All worked fine week prior to.

Monday I drive it. Turn headlights on, left blinker light stuck "halfway" on. Figured blown bulb. Upon inspection, I cant find one.

So, I have:

My left low beam, both high beam, left park light, left fender light, and inside indicator all are half lit.
Rear lights, right park light, right fender light, and right low beam are fine/normal.

My bright switch has never worked in the 3 years I have owned the car, but never really needed my brights and appears quite difficult to fix.

Is my bright switch the culprit, turnsignal switch, or wiring somewhere else?

How hard is this for someone whos never done more then change steering wheels to replace any of the guts inside? Prices seem half resonable on parts.

The dimmer switch itselself is not inside the steering column. It is mounted on the steering above the ignition switch under the dash. If you will do a search you will find a picture of it on several posts from recent weeks.

I saw the post from about a week ago where you posted some pictures about adjusting the switch. I even saved them. But my understanding was that them images shown were after I pulled the black casing off... Which I didnt see a seam or know how too..

So I can just lower the assy from the dash, and get access to the bright switch?

Would this seem to be most likely the problem? Or best place to start? How is/would/could the bright switch affect the turn signals?? Let alone the LEFT FRONT ONLY?

Check the grounds on that side of the car. I don't believe the switch is the problem.

Alright, will do.

This morning my wipers dont work. I'm really starting to think something in column got crossed, or damaged.

Trickster is the man. Putting the battery back in a week or two ago, I pinched the ground between the battery and the tray, it finally ripped loose. :hail:

I had a similar problem with just the front headlights flickering from time to time. I decided to upgrade my headlight wiring after reading this article on TGO:

https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...tupgrade.shtml

GREAT improvement over the old, stock wiring. I've never had the problem surface again. I suppose it was a crappy gound for me as well. I highly recommend this article for you as well. To find out if it would be of benefit, take a meter and attach the - probe to the battery's negative pole, turn on the headlights and probe the headlight connector for power. You should have approximately 0.25VDC drop at the connector (i.e.: measure the battery directly. You should get ~12.5VDC. Then measure the headlight connector. You should get <0.25V drop or in theis case +12.25VDC or higher. Any less and you could benefit from the article.). If you have too great a voltage drop, then your headlights are not giving all they can.
