CB connected to LeSabre 1997?

Is it possible to connect up a CB Base Unit inside a 1997 LeSabre?

Someone told me that since the fuse box is no longer easy to access from inside this car, to connect a CB would take major work. Can anyone shed some light on this question for me?

Thanks Much,

Patt

Your question is not exactly third gen firebird/camaro related but it can apply to our cars or any car really.

CBs shouldn't be that hard. Just hook up +12V and ground and run the antenna wire to the antenna. Mount the antenna. Should be it.

Note: I never installed a CB in a car but i would think it would be as easy or easier than putting in a cd player.

not to make you feel unwelcome or to shoot you down here, but this is a forum for third generation (1982 - 1992) camaros and firebirds. I will however attempt to answer your question for you. It is no harder to install a cb base unit in that car than it is to install a fancy completely tricked out stereo system in it. In fact it is probably easier.

So sorry to be in the wrong stall. I was desparetly trying to find anyone who could shed some light on this question, and to be honest, I have no idea what a Third Generation car is. I'm just an old gal who needs answers. Thanks to you both for your help.

I think I will go down to the LeSabre dealer with my CB in hand and make them tell me. At least I have started with some good responses for you both.

Thanks
Patt

Axle/Gears: bunch of 10 bolts how scary is that
I have one in mine all you have to do is find a ground (black wire).... theres about 8 million in your car just look around. If you can't find any under body panels ect. theres some in the engine compartment. All a ground is, is a screw thats right into the metal of your car. Then just connect the 12V (red wire) to a 12V source. I would look at your manual at your fuse box. Find one that has a 12V output that IS NOT supplied with power all the time. I used my radio output I believe. Then just mount the antenna somewhere. I even made a custom mount for my T-Top but since have moved it to the cargo compartment in my trunk. Hey you can get a cop a lot faster with a CB then dialing 911.
