Starter wiring
Hi...
Just finished my head gasket swap and was about to test start it.... No crank at all
Crawled under the car to find the purple wire to the starter was laying against the starter, well easy fix
put it on its connector and tried to start it again..........but nothing
Connected my voltmeter and checked--- no 12v when turning the key
So, I think I had a short when the cable was against the starter.
I need a wiring diagram of the starter relay and I will check for power there but otherwise I guess the fuseable link near the starter need to be replaced.............
Can I but a regular fuse insted, if so what size.........?

The purple wire should attach to the solenoid. And you can buy fusable link kits at most auto stores, you just cut out the old ones and crimp them in.

When you reconnected the purple wire, which post did you put it on? The small post marked "S" or the one marked "R"? It should go on the one marked "S". Just a thought!!!!!!!!!!

Checked the fusible links- OK
Checked the Relay- it clicked so Ok
Checked for power at the relay- Nothing....
Traced the power wire to the relay to my Alarm (DEFA Patriot) and I dissconnected it and the car started direct.........
