I have lights radio stuff like that but no voltage is reading at the gauge in the car, also my tach is still reading 2000rpms don't know if this is related, this is what happened i went for a ride around the neighborhood, went to turn around and car just died black smoke came out of the hood, now it won't start i'm at a loss what could it be? a guy came out and told me it could be the neutral safety switch but i don't know. Could it be a fusible link? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Check all the fusible links.

 

I think I would figure out what caused the smoke and if it was burnt wiring then you are going to have to fix the short and repair whatever burnt.
