A/C system, cooling fan wiring

I first posted this on the cooling fourm, but have gotten no replys. I'll try here since it's more elelctrical.

My brother-in-law replaced the A/C unit when he was borrowing the car since the stock one started to seize up. It is not charged (i really don't drive it.) and the fans (both) turn on as soon as the key is turned on. The A/C controls are off and the fan is off inside the vehicle, but the fans in the engine bay never stop turning. I noticed the other day that there was a connector that was left un connected on the wiring harness right next to the A/C compressor. A small round 2 pin connector. The connector to the fan clutch is connected. There is no provision for the other connector on the back side of the compressor. What does this connector go to? I am afraid that it did go to the A/C compressor and he got the wrong one. Does anyone have a schemitic of the A/C electrical system they could post.

Cheers.

What engine, car model, year?

Its kind of hard to put the wrong unit in. If the AC is wired up then I wouldn't worry about it. Try to post a picture of it on here...

A/C is 'wired', only on the connector to the clutch assembly. I have a feeling that it needs to go to the compressor.

Anyone have a schematic on the A/C connections?

if the ac is not hooked up and the connector looks like it goes there, then it probably does. Its probably okay to leave it off anyway since your a/c system is not charged. Sorry no schematic.
